Swim Program

79% of children in households with incomes less than $50,000 have little-to-no swimming ability. Research shows 64% of African American, 45% of Hispanic/Latino, and 40% of Caucasian children have little to no swimming ability. At Horizons, we provide every student with free swimming lessons and more importantly the opportunity to build confidence through learning to swim.

Horizons teaches swim lessons using the StarFish Swim School curriculum. In small groups, students learn basic water safety, swim skills and strokes. Horizons offers swim lessons from basic swimming through stroke school for students grades K-8.

The Horizons Hurricanes is a competitive swim club that competes in the Savannah Coastal Swim League. Horizons students and those that are a part of the Horizons community are eligible to compete on the team during the summer. For more information about the team, visit our team website.
