Summer Program

For six weeks each summer, Horizons Savannah students in kindergarten - 12th grade dive into a rich, culturally inclusive tuition-free curriculum supporting literacy, math, and social-emotional learning. The students build relationships with teachers and peers while also growing confidence in other areas, including learning to swim and preparing for life after high school.

Academics

Horizons students participate in activities that boost literacy skills and encourage a love of reading. With the help of our Reading Specialist, we provide individualized support for each student's needs. Through our hands-on, project-based STEAM programing our students develop problem-solving skills and critical thinking. They participate in activities such as coding, digital literacy, robotics, designing, building, and racing model cars, 3D rendering, digital art, design, and architecture.

Swimming

Horizons teaches swim lessons using the StarFish Swim School curriculum. In small groups, students learn basic water safety, swim skills and strokes. Horizons offers swim lessons from basic swimming through stroke school for students grades K-8.

Social Emotional Learning

We focus on the needs of the whole child by taking time to teach positive emotional expression, social skills and modeling positive behavior through our near-peer volunteer program. Our positive, supportive program environment creates connectedness and a sense of belonging.
